1945 - 1949 Willys CJ-2A
Production of the first civilian Jeep began in July of 1945.  For the first
month of production, the CJ2A was built alongside the MB and the early
CJ2A shares many characteristics of the wartime MB.  Just 1824 CJ2A's
were produced in 1945, making the '45 CJ2A one of the most sought after
of the civilian Jeeps.
The CJ2A saw numerous changes throughout its production run.  The CJ2A
Page lists a comprehensive break-down of these changes based on serial
number data.
1945 CJ2A serial# 10087

dash; serial number plate located on the passenger side of the firewall (early CJ2A had serial number on the middle dash
plate as well); body tag located on passenger side firewall; frame tag (with serial number) located on driver side frame rail

Windshield Frame: two piece windshield frame (inner frame and outer frame) with split glass, windshield frame has WILLYS
stamped in middle of the panel, round tube construction *Note: CJ2A,
MB, & CJ3A windshield frames are interchangeable

production CJ2A's used a CJ3A style frame, without the gussets, as the new CJ3A model was brought into production.
