1950 - 1952 M38
The M38 was the second military Jeep model Willys produced.  Based on
the civilian CJ3A, the M38 looks much like it at first glance.  The M38
electrical system was 24V, using two 12V batteries in series.  A battery box
was placed in the cowl to accommodate the second battery.  The M38 also
featured a waterproof ignition system.

M38 Identifying Characteristics:
Data Plates: brass plates on the dash
Windshield Frame: one piece windshield, square tube frame similar to the
CJ3A windshield frame, vent cover plate is screwed to the frame
Body: no Willys stamped into hood or tailgate, tailgate has reinforcing
channel for spare tire carrier, hood has cutout on passenger side for
snorkel option, battery box located on passenger side cowl in front of
windshield
Frame: reinforcements around the front frame horns
Grill: single hoop over each headlight
